About Me

¡Hola! I am María Blanco,  a Spanish Neurolanguage Coach® and author of  “SMART Ways for Learning SPANISH”.

I was inspired to set up For LEARNING SPANISH in 2015 after years of seeing the excellent results that came from introducing language learning strategies into my lessons with adults and with university students. A few hours of discussing strategies with students made all the difference: I saw significant improvements in their motivation, learning pace, performance, and self-confidence. I also noticed that teachers were receptive and gave very positive feedback in the workshops where I was sharing my experience of introducing language learning strategies to my students.

The desire to write a book on this topic grew stronger after seeing how much more empowered students were once they had a basic knowledge of effective language learning principles and strategies. I have worked on summarising all that I know about successful language learning, and make it as reader friendly as possible so that it can be accessible to as many people as possible across the world.

The book draws on more than 20 years’ experience of teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language to adult education and university students. It also incorporates research in applied linguistics, cognitive psychology, and education neuroscience. Last but not least, it draws on my own experience of learning foreign languages.
